Mission of Ipoderac “To guarantee help for street boys and abandoned boys, supporting other institutions with the same mission and organisations that decrease the generation of homeless and abandoned children, favouring self-sustainability, to construct a better future together.” |
Ipoderac Educative Model
There are four fundamental axes of the educative area:
Life in the Houses
The houses are formed in the axes according to the needs of the boy in Ipoderac, where he can feel unique and loved without being judged, and be listened to and recognised.
The house provides the space to exercise limits, rules of coexistence, collective space, and the containment of the boys’ personal issues, different to those who live in their places of origin.
Academic Formation
The boys attend schools in Atlixco, the intention being that they receive a formal and high quality education.
This seeks to awaken constant excellence in school and studying, the desire of which would be personal excellence. School is also an important grounds for socialising, where the boys can interact with others their own age and of various socioeconomic conditions.
Work Formation
It is important that the boys learn that they can earn a sustainable living in an honest and worthy way, through work, with an inherent value to the person at the same time as awakening a sense of usefulness and value.
The work inside Ipoderac is with the intention of the boys understanding the importance of working in a team, joint participation, and with correspondence.
Human Development
Children receive psychological attention, on a personalized manner, to help them develop in a more integral way.
We seek to bring closure to the boys’ personal issues (family, reason for coming to Ipoderac , frustration, violence, self-acceptance, relationships with others, etc...). The dimensions to work on are, amongst others: spiritual, emotional, recreational, and civic-political.
